Job Description Job Description Position Overview: The Vice
President of Sales is responsible for defining and executing the
organization’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth, market
expansion, and customer acquisition. To be successful, this person
must be able to facilitate effective collaboration with national
account leaders, regional sales teams, supply chain and marketing
teams with a focus on revenue growth, profit margins and customer
relations. Responsibilities: •Develop an annual topline sales &
profitability plan for Bonnie Plants to achieve company revenue
goals. •Develop sales plan for season readiness and retailer
program/ promotional execution. •Develop a comprehensive 3-year
sales growth plan. •Directly manage team of Sales Directors
(national sales). •Develop team capabilities and coach individuals
to ensure success and team sustainability through training,
succession planning, talent attraction and retention. •Manage sales
after action reviews to determine success and ROI of sales
activities for optimization in coordination with appropriate
stakeholders. •Developing ongoing pricing and trade program
strategy. •Identify risks for channel conflict and work with
stakeholders to maximize sales opportunities, while minimizing risk
of channel conflicts. •Monitor, document, and communicate
competitive activity in the market including retail price points,
promotional activity, and product introductions across all
retailers. •Develop and maintain strong relationships with
customers and external industry partners, and in some cases lead
negotiations for major, critical accounts. •Provide support and
oversight for budget development to ensure adequate resources for
sales teams, programs, and initiatives. Required Education and
Experience: •Bachelor’s degree in a business related major; MBA
preferred •Minimum of 8 years of business experience with 3 years
of national account management experience is required. Knowledge,
Skills & Abilities: •Team leader – ability to develop and motivate
a high-performing team, successfully coordinating people and
resources. •Effective and timely verbal and non-verbal
communication a must. •Data-driven mindset to analyze market
trends, consumer behavior, and sales data. •Financial acumen to
conduct ROI analysis of sales initiatives. •Ability to anticipate
market shifts and plan for long-term growth. •Must be able to
coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. •Expert level
proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products •Ability to
work independently and in a team environment is essential. Work
Location The preferred work location is the Opelika, AL home
office, but other locations with hub airport access will be
considered. Travel 30-40% daily and overnight travel may be
expected. A valid driver’s license is required.
