Opportunity OverviewAt the Johns Manville Phenix City facility, we manufacture a number of mineral wool products including industrial boards in various densities, high density batts for use in commercial building applications, and a wide range of pipe insulation products. Mineral wool is made by melting several types of rock together, with the most significant percentage being basalt. The molten rock is then spun into fibers and formed into the final product. It's a neat process, but what is even cooler is how we do it...Our PEOPLE are at the core of everything we doOur PASSION is in going the extra mileWe PERFORM at a superior levelWe PROTECT today to ensure tomorrowWe are currently recruiting for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team!HOURLY RATE $29.01$2000 BONUS AVAILABLE!Your Day to Day: Provide maintenance support to Production on rotating shift.Troubleshoot power distribution systems, digital and analog signal processing, robots, burner management systems, variable frequency drives, motor starters, disconnects, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and PLCs.Install/Configure/Commission signal and power cable runs, conduit runs, cable tray, disconnects, cabinets, motor starters, VFDs, instrumentation, motors, cameras and lighting.Calibrate instrumentation, such as pressure, temperature, flow and level.Read and edit basic wiring and interlock diagrams.Interact with HMIsProgram variable frequency drives, PLCs and robots.The E I Tech plays a critical role in supporting the plant's overall safety objectives. They must demonstrate a safety-first value, leading by example, not just abiding by all current safety rules, but supporting an environment of continuous improvement.Skills:Proficient with multimeter, megger, field communicator, laptop.Experienced with programming Variable Frequency DrivesExperienced with PLC troubleshootingFamiliar with Burner Management SystemsProficient with Electrical and Instrumentation drawingsCapable of running conduit and cable tray.Experienced with 480 volt power distribution.Familiar with robot systems.Familiar with DC Motors.Capable of calibrating 4-20 mA transmitters.What you Bring to the Team:High School Diploma. Two years of formal technical training in electrical and instrumentation craftsFive plus years of Industrial Electrician/E I experienceMust be able to stand, walk, and use tools continuously as well as frequently reach, climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to work in elevated work platforms.Work requires good hearing, vision, speaking, color vision, and finger dexterity skills as well as the ability to perform close work. Computer skills and the ability to analyze blueprints, charts, and diagrams are essential. Electricians must supply basic hand tools including acceptable electrical meters. Must be willing to work any shift Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment This job is in an industrial, manufacturing environment. The job requires working frequently around and with heavy machinery with moving mechanical parts, industrial ovens, and mobile equipment. The environment is not climate controlled and employees must be able to work in environments that may be extremely hot and humid or cold depending upon the operation and the season. Walking surfaces can be wet, dusty, and uneven. Areas of the building where work must be done have high noise levels, vibration, and/or fumes. Some working areas contain the presence of airborne particles which can irritate the skin or eyes. The manufacturing process involves toxic or caustic chemicals. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment which includes steel toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection, gloves and head protection.
