Key Responsibilities/Typical Duties

  • Maintain the SAP Maintenance system and ensure that all work orders have the appropriate labor and material charged to the equipment, track status of work order backlog - which jobs are ready to perform, which jobs are waiting for materials, which jobs can only be performed during a major shutdown and age of work orders - and ensure that all work orders are closed when work is finished, ensuring that all proper documentation is included
  • Analyze work orders by size, urgency, skill set, location, complexity and available manpower; assist maintenance teams by issuing work orders in a sequential flow to individual technicians or work teams. Coordinate the engagement and direction of appropriate subcontractors
  • Work with management team to optimize the mixes of planned and scheduled work, scheduled (but not planned) work and unscheduled work
  • Use guidelines set by management to develop, implement and manage PM and life cycle optimization strategies and perform annual review of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure current work order system library contains correct frequencies and balanced 12-month schedule for all technicians and vendors
  • Continually improve the planning, scheduling, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency assuring that the work is planned to meet all important maintenance, project and start-up dates
  • Develop maintenance schedules using SAP software
  • Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with the necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of these jobs
  • Maximize resource productivity by identifying parts, materials, special tools, external services, rentals and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to optimize plant reliability and maintenance costs while adhering to site safety requirements
  • Analyze predictive maintenance data for trends and initiate corrective actions as appropriate
  • Determine appropriate predictive maintenance tasks and train the work force in the use of predictive maintenance techniques
  • Develop, maintain and distribute workflow processes to the maintenance team documenting how work is planned, scheduled and executed
  • Provides regular statistical reporting to the management team showing quantities evidence of the productive use of the work force
  • Provide regular statistical reporting to the management team showing equipment specific reliability KPIs such as Mean Time to Repair, Mean Time Between Failure and equipment uptime
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in maintenance planning/scheduling in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Detailed knowledge of facilities systems and infrastructure including electrical distribution, steam and condensate, compressed air, various cooling water systems, chillers and chilled water and cooling towers
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer)
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, SAP PM preferred
  • Working knowledge of ASME/ASHRAE/ASTM/NEC/NFPA Codes, and standards
  • Ability to write and communicate routine reports and correspondence

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
