Perform claim reviews and status updates to ensure that claims are properly set up, coverage positions are received, reserves are adequately set, and that the claim files are moving towards closure or resolution in a timely manner. Provide routine status updates to service team on open claims. Communicate with claims professionals, clients and internal staff, and achieve successful results. We require our team members to be client focused in a way that delivers the client effective and efficient resolutions to their risk management needs. The role requires an individual that is passionate about learning, advocating for claims, partnering with internal team members and external carrier partners with intent to help build strong risk management portfolios for all of our clients. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Claims Management: Handles litigation and complex claims, including any specific high profile claims as assigned by the internal team members. Ability to proactively advocate claims from initial report of claim through resolution while effectively communicating with client and internal team members on the status of the claim. Perform claims reviews and status updates to ensure that claims are properly set up, coverage positions are received, reserves are adequately set, and that the claim files are moving towards closure or resolution in a timely manner. Process claims notices in Agency Management System / Document Imaging System and maintain data for accuracy. Mitigate client claim exposures through the strategic management of claims. Ability to negotiate with adjusters on behalf of clients to have positive outcomes related to claims. Organize and participate in claim review meetings and new business presentations as requested. Perform other specific claims related duties as assigned. Claims Expertise: Be a claims 'go to' in the office for Claims Analysts and internal team members.; actively be present in the agency and the community with a focus on sharing claims knowledge and the impact of claims to a risk management program. Continue to drive for further education and knowledge; stay ahead of trends within coverage issues and claims technical skills. Claims Summaries & Analysis: Prepare loss analysis and stratifications as requested by internal team members and clients to include Claims Summaries, Loss Stratification reports, and Mod Analysis reports. Analyze losses and current claim statuses to determine if updated loss runs are needed. Distribution of bi-weekly loss reports to internal team members. Carrier Relationships: Build strong carrier relationships with adjusters and other claims team members in an effort to form a partnership that supports both client needs and carrier objectives. Communicate effectively with carriers as issues arise and work toward resolving issues efficiently. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 3-5 years previous claims experience, legal experience is a plus. Multi-line carrier or brokerage claims experience. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Professional designations a plus. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that instills good working relationships with customers, clients, colleagues and management. Well organized, self-motivated, willingness to learn, attention to detail. Computer proficiency with system of records, web-based tools, and Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel and Word). Established priorities and organizes time efficiently to ensure meeting or exceeding deadlines. Property and Casualty License or willingness to obtain within 90 days required.
