Job ID 01449806 Most Recent Date Posted 06/05/2021 City Columbus State Georgia Country United States Date Posted: 2021-05-13-07:00 Country: United States of America Location: PW103: Columbus GA 8801 Macon Road, PO Box 9903, Columbus, GA, 31908 USA Key Responsibilities Serve as the mechanical technical lead for the Facility Projects team, complete mechanical designs for facilities projects independently and oversee engineering firms throughout the project life cycle Develop and define project technical specifications in close coordination with project sponsors Support peer engineers, including different disciplines, by providing mechanical subject matter expertise for multiple facilities projects Education Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, with 3 years of experience; Preferred master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience Minimum Requirements: 3 years of engineering experience in an industrial setting as a discipline engineer 2 years of project engineering experience required in an industrial setting Detailed knowledge of facilities, systems, and infrastructure within an industrial setting Detailed knowledge of facilities mechanical utility distribution systems including steam and condensate, compressed air, various cooling water systems, chillers and chilled water, and cooling towers Detailed knowledge of engineering principles in statics, dynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow Preferred Requirements: Knowledge of mechanical utility distribution systems Ability to apply mechanical theory and related knowledge in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of operational utility systems and electronic control equipment and circuitry in a large manufacturing plant Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and control schematics Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact within a project team Possesses excellent communication skills Proficient in technical writing Typical Duties Lead troubleshooting efforts via structured problem-solving methodologies Manage utility usage (electrical, water, gas) and capacity data and report out monthly Drive operational excellence and maint. adherence to assure system uptime Identify system upgrades and lead scope, cost estimate, budget, and ROI analysis to justify capital allocation to management Manage Equipment Records and assures current data are loaded in SAP (PM module), and technical library: BOMs, Drawings, SOP's, etc. Coordinate and assist in repairs involving basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Read blueprints and plan projects to complete assigned tasks, and coordinate and follow up on incidental carpentry, masonry, and painting and plaster work. Responsible for maintain a safe work environment by implementing engineering controls to mitigate risk, issuing near miss reports, and promoting safety within the workplace Responsible for performing work in accordance with internal SOPs and Good Engineering Practices, and ensuring compliance with the following regulations: EPA, and all other applicable State and Federal codes Takes ownership of equipment, systems, and processes becoming a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and presenting improvements to sustain operations Perform other duties as assigned Skills Minimum Requirements: Advanced skills with ACAD and MS Visio, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer) Experience performing engineering tasks as a mechanical or process engineer from concept design through construction document closeout, including development of construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates Good working knowledge of ASME/ASHRAE/ASTM Codes, Building Code of Georgia, and standards Experience in construction administration: requests for information and in-field observations Preferred Requirements: Possess an ability to influence supporting departments Able to receive constructive feedback and adapt to change within a dynamic environment Maintain integrity and self-awareness Able to adapt to change Work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger team Raytheon Technologies is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
