THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE YOU TO BE ONSITE DURING WORK
Serves as front line support for the Patient Access Department
within Piedmont Healthcare. Ensures patient accounts are complete
with valid insurance coverage and current demographic/clinical
data. Calculates patient financial responsibility, presents patient
financial options/requirements and processes patient payments.
Secures patient consent and acknowledgement on required
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School graduate or GED equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One (1) year exp in one of the following:
Healthcare Revenue Cycle
- Related clerical accounting/finance/retail.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Three (3) years of healthcare Revenue Cycle experience
preferred. Certification with Healthcare Financial Management
Association, or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative preferred.
Prior Epic experience preferred.
Performs registration, arrival, and check-in functions upon a
patient presenting for service.
Collects/Verifies demographic, clinical and insurance
Confirms eligibility and benefits for unscheduled/walk-in or
emergency department patients.
Calculates and determines financial responsibility for patients
including deductibles, co-payments, and amounts covered for
Process cashiering functions and refer patients to Financial
Counseling where appropriate.
Presents consent forms and notifications to patients and obtains
all necessary patient signatures and information at time of
Responsible for reviewing hospital outpatient service orders for
accuracy and medical necessity when required.
Enters all data elements pertaining to the requested services in
Revenue Cycle systems.
