Job Description Internal Medicine Hospitalist – Full-Time
Position Location: Dothan, Alabama Overview: We are seeking a
full-time, Board-Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist to join
our dynamic, hospital-employed hospitalist team at Southeast Health
in Dothan, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute
to a growing practice in a reputable regional medical center
serving a diverse patient population across multiple age groups and
socio-economic backgrounds. Key Responsibilities: - Provide
comprehensive inpatient care for unassigned patients presenting to
the Emergency Department requiring hospital admission. - Manage
transfers and perform in-hospital consultations across various
medical specialties. - Collaborate with intensivists to admit,
co-manage, and treat adult patients within the critical care
setting. - Participate in a 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule with
12-hour daytime shifts (7 am – 7 pm), averaging a minimum of 12
shifts per month, with flexibility for scheduling adjustments. -
Support adult ICU patients, including those requiring ventilator
management, with 24/7 pulmonary and critical care backup. - Utilize
EPIC EMR to document and coordinate patient care efficiently. -
Engage in limited coverage for select primary care patients of
private practices, as needed. - Work alongside a multidisciplinary
team supported by advanced subspecialty, radiology, and APP
resources. Qualifications: - MD or DO degree from an accredited
medical school. - Completion of an Internal Medicine residency
program. - Board certification in Internal Medicine. - Alabama
medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure. - Excellent
communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to adapt to a
