Job Description ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Albany, Georgia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 17 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: /n RN - PCU Stepdown /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM or 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM /n• Every other weekend requirement /n• Must live 75 miles from facility to qualify /n• Minimum 2 full years PCU/Stepdown experience in large hospital setting required /n• One successful travel assignment required - no first-time travelers /n• Floor-specific orientation includes 3 shifts /n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred /n• Must be flexible to work holidays and days around holidays as needed /n• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 with 44-bed unit capacity /n• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors /n• Experience with cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, and others /n• Work with BiPap, CPAP, vapotherm, and high flow oxygen (no full ventilators) /n• Float to ICU for stepdown patients only unless ICU experience documented /n• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients including CABG, thoracotomy, EVARS, and other cardiovascular procedures /n• Handle fast room turnover with average census of 32-38 patients and 12-16 admissions/discharges per shift /n• Dress code requirements: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural colored hair, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos /n• Use MEDITECH electronic medical record system /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare facility features a comprehensive 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit with two specialized areas: one focused on cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery patients, and another for smaller procedures, drips, and CHF patients. The facility maintains 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, and specialized teams including PICC and IV teams.
