Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Macon, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred; Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) required Must-Have: Strong clinical assessment and nursing skills for Level 1 Trauma Hospital Strong experience in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion and care, and cardiac monitoring Description: Seeking an RN for a MedSurg/Telemetry unit. The facility has 637 licensed beds and is a Level 1 Trauma Center. The unit has 23 beds with a patient census of 10-23. Patients include those undergoing hip, knee, shoulder replacement surgeries, bariatric surgeries, and spinal surgeries. The role involves managing cardiac drips, insulin drips, and providing care for patients with acute or chronic diseases. Common co-morbidities in the patient population include diabetes, hypertension, infections, and congestive heart failure. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:4-6. The nurse will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for care coordination and discharge planning. Skills required include wound care, post-operative monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and patient education on renal and fluid management. The unit provides support with CNAs for vital signs, glucose checks, and assisting with patient care tasks. The facility has a resource team, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and a hospitalist on-site around the clock. Technology used includes an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, and cardiac telemetry monitoring equipment. There is a weekend rotation of 5-6 shifts within a 12-shift cycle every 6 weeks. Holidays require one shift of each major holiday. RTO requests require manager approval. The unit culture is busy but promotes teamwork.
