Exciting opportunity for an experienced Med-Surg/Telemetry RN to provide exceptional care in a reputable Level 1 Trauma Teaching Hospital with a strong focus on cardiac and stroke care. This contract position is based in Warner Robins, GA, within a 30-bed med-surg/telemetry unit delivering care to patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions. Responsibilities: - Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, A-fib, acute kidney injury, COPD, NSTEMI, sepsis, diabetes, and more - Manage post-operative and post-cardiac procedure patients effectively - Perform advanced clinical procedures including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, insulin and heparin drips, and cardiac telemetry interpretation - Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams for care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education with an emphasis on renal and fluid management - Administer wound care, Foley catheter management, and central line care - Utilize EPIC EMR and specialized medical equipment including cardiac telemetry monitors, IV pumps, and portable vital signs devices Qualifications: - Current RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years med-surg/telemetry nursing experience - Required certifications: BLS and Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR); ACLS and Med-Surg certification preferred - Strong clinical assessment skills within a Level 1 Trauma environment - Comfort managing complex drips and telemetry monitoring - Effective communication and teamwork skills Schedule: - 12-hour shifts, either 7A-7P or 7P-7A - Weekend rotation: approximately 5-6 weekends every 6 weeks - Holiday shifts include one major holiday per season (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) - No call or on-call responsibilities Additional Details: - Orientation includes 1 day in-hospital plus 2 days of educational modules - Free parking available on campus - Support staff including CNAs and unit secretaries assist with daily patient care tasks - Dynamic, fast-paced environment with a collaborative team culture About Warner Robins, GA:Warner Robins is a vibrant city known for its welcoming community and rich history.
