Job Title: Cath Lab RN Profession: Travel RN Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications preferred Must-Have: Strong assessment and monitoring skills Description: The Cath Lab RN is a crucial member of the cardiac patient health care team. Responsibilities include providing assessment, monitoring, and intervention for cardiac procedures such as coronary stents, Swan Ganz/right heart catheterization, balloon valvuloplasty, angioplasty, and pericardiocentesis. Administer oral and intravenous medications to patients. Operate intra-aortic balloons, physiological recorders, and printers for monitoring electrocardiogram data. Manage patients under sedation and monitor for adverse reactions. Educate patients and their families regarding surgical site care, lifestyle, medications, and other postoperative information. Manage paperwork, including patient consent forms, charting, lab results, and procedure documentation.
