Job Description:
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro
Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours

accepted License: GA RRT License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
Must-Have: Trauma experience required; pulmonary function testing
preferred Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. The
patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics. The role
primarily involves adult RRT but will also include working with
pediatric intubated patients. The facility is a level 2 trauma
center and interventional stroke certified with a level 3 NICU. The
NICU serves as the regional transport resource. Responsibilities
include managing non-invasive ventilation and conventional
ventilation. You will provide aerosol therapy and bedside pulmonary
function tests. You will perform arterial lines, oxygen management,
patient education, and arterial blood gas draws. Experience with
trauma cases is required. Preferred experience includes pulmonary
function testing, specifically spirometry testing. Familiarity with
unit systems such as Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape,
and Viaysis Avea is beneficial. The scrub color is slate gray.
Travelers are expected to work every other weekend unless otherwise
specified. Floating may be required within the facility and sister
campuses. Call requirements are not applicable. If one major
holiday falls during your assignment period, you will be expected
to work it. If two major holidays occur, you are expected to work
both. If three major holidays fall during your assignment, you must
work two out of the three. Full compliance is required to start on
time. If compliance is not met, the starting date may be pushed
back by two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
References from supervisory personnel are highly preferred. All
candidates must submit to the job as their first choice. The
maximum requested time off is 7 days. Please note that no holiday
requests can be made during specified holiday periods. Experience
with specific medical equipment is preferred. Completion of
necessary requirements and submission of core items is crucial to
ensure a timely start.
