**Licensed Practical Nurse Job Description**

Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with Piedmont Healthcare's Mission and Vision Statements.





The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider, guiding ancillary staff and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality care. This role requires a blend of compassion, caring, and technologically appropriate competency to provide holistic care to patients.





**Key Responsibilities:**

--- Performs patient assessments, collecting data on physical, psychosocial, and health history
--- Evaluates patient developmental age and provides care accordingly
--- Collaborates with Registered Nurses or providers to develop patient plans of care
--- Carries out plans of care to achieve desired patient outcomes
--- Provides patient care specific to the setting, identified needs, and plan
--- Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members
--- Identifies teaching opportunities and provides resources for patient education
--- Communicates issues and concerns to Charge Nurses, Clinical Managers, and physicians as needed
--- Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record





**Requirements:**

--- Graduate of an LPN program
--- New graduates of an accredited nursing school are eligible
--- Current License in the State of Georgia as a LPN or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
--- BLS certification required
--- Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for (preferred)
--- Nursing experience in a hospital setting (preferred)
--- ALS/ACLS and PALS certification required for Emergency Department roles
