Description:Summary: Obstetricians and Gynecologists are
specialized doctors who diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases
of women, especially those affecting the reproductive system and
the process of childbirth. They are responsible for general medical
care for women, but also provide care related to pregnancy and the
reproductive system. Like general practitioners, OB/GYNs are
concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of general
health problems, but they focus on ailments specific to the female
anatomy, such as breast and cervical cancer, urinary tract and
pelvic disorders, and hormonal disorders. OB/GYNs also specialize
in childbirth, treating and counseling women throughout their
pregnancy, from giving prenatal diagnoses to delivery and
postpartum care. OB/GYNs track the health of, and treat, both
mother and fetus as the pregnancy progresses.Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Review patient's medical history
- Update charts and patient information to show current findings
and treatments
- Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as
medical histories, reports, and examination results.
- Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal
periods.
- Prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other
specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or
injury.
- Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination
information to diagnose medical condition of patient.
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed
treatments with patients.
- Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate
treatments as necessary.
- Advise patients and community members concerning diet,
activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when
necessary.
- Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students,
assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
- Consult with or provide consulting services to other
physicians.
- Recommend and design a plan of treatment
- Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about
their health and well-beingEvaluation: The evaluation of work
performance, including: specific duties, responsibilities,
demeanor, and work ethic, will be ongoing and implemented by the
Chief Medical Officer per center policies.Requirements:Minimum
Qualifications: Possess a degree from an accredited school of
medicine or osteopathy. Complete an accredited program of
Obstetrics and Gynecology. Pass a national exam. Must be licensed
to practice in Georgia. Must successfully pass a drug screening and
a criminal background check. Compliance: Adhere to company policies
and procedures and all Federal, State and Local medical service
requirements, to include HIPAA Privacy & Security.Confidentiality
(HIPAA): Every employee is required to sign a Pledge of
Confidentiality. Failure to comply with our Pledge of
Confidentiality can or will lead to immediate termination of
employment. Confidentiality applies to a patient's Personal Health
Information (PHI) and includes: written, oral and electronic
communications. Each employee has an obligation to maintain

protect their computer log-on and password. You must secure your
work area prior to leaving it unattended for an extended period of
time. You are required to log-off of your computer and secure your
work area prior to leaving at the end of the day. If you have a
responsibility for closing or locking files, securing equipment, or
locking the building and you do not comply with these requirements,
you will be subject to reprimand and/or termination based upon the
infraction. We are required by law to protect patient privacy,
identifiable patient information, and all properties containing
such information.Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
