Possible.DIRECTOR, DEMAND PLANNINGMISSION / SUMMARY:The primary
role of the Director, Demand Planning is to develop demand
forecasts, analyze sales and trends, and interface with supply
chain planning partners (e.g., finance, sales & marketing, product
management, etc.) on decisions that impact the business including
identifying and resolving variances. This position is a key driver
in creating and managing the true customer/consumer demand signals
by which the organization aligns supply chain and company
resources.JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited
to the following:
- Manage the LRP sales planning, annual sales planning and
monthly consensus planning process for $6B dollar America's
business. Shared responsibility on final product with other
relevant parties (i.e. sr. leadership, sales, marketing, finance).
Outputs in revenue dollars, cartons and net tons.
- Own and enhance demand planning monthly cycle calendar and
drive accountability on calendar adherence.
- Lead monthly executive demand review to align team on revenue
outlook.
- Manage and lead team of 14 people in all facets of demand
planning, sales reporting and sales analysis.
- Drive MAPE/bias improvements and current month sales projection
accuracy by measuring planner results and leading monthly
performance discussions.
- Manage and maintain key data requirements for sales reporting
including market categories, new product development, fiber
substrates and account assignments.
- Influence and collaborate with key partners in marketing, sales
(field sales, sales managers, directors and vice presidents) and
finance, and address input gaps as identified by forecast error,
bias and volatility review.
- Collaborate with division leaders (VP/GM's) to drive 3% annual
revenue growth by analyzing and communicating forecast range and
potential upside opportunity and downside risk to the business.
Work with sales to identify and develop countermeasures as
necessary.
- Provide insights based upon detailed analysis of sales trends
and market/customer category performance.
- Develop, monitor and communicate reports on forecast accuracy
and sales trends to business unit and supply chain. Drive
continuous improvement.
- Enhance monthly demand planning processes through system usage
and report automation.BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain leadership.
- Deep knowledge in planning processes: demand planning, supply
planning, material planning and S&OP process.
- Broad knowledge and relationships across different parts of the
organization: commercial, sales, marketing, product development,
finance and manufacturing.
- APICS certification preferred.
- SAP knowledge and experience with S&OP/IBP software
solutions required.
- Advanced planning system experience preferred (Kinaxis Rapid
Response).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.EDUCATION /
KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related
field.
- CPIM certification preferred.SKILLS:
- Demonstrated understanding of market dynamics, competitor
analysis, and business drivers to inform demand planning
strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve
performance goals that drive business results.
- Proficiency using technology tools that enable demand planning
and reporting.
- Ability to use technology tools that facilitate collaboration
with external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data
into executive-level analysis.
