We’re looking to add a skilled Cost Estimator to our team to help us price, plan, and win successful jobs. Position Overview As a Mid-Level Structural Steel Cost Estimator , you will be responsible for preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for structural steel projects. Your expertise in estimating, project takeoffs, and industry software will play a vital role in our preconstruction process. Key Responsibilities: Review construction drawings and specifications to prepare accurate material and labor estimates. Perform steel takeoffs using Structural Material Manager and/or Tekla PowerFab. Develop cost breakdowns and schedules of values for bidding and billing purposes. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to validate scope and feasibility. Maintain and update historical cost data and production metrics. Work closely with the sales and preconstruction team to submit competitive bids. Qualifications: 3–8 years of experience in estimating within the structural steel or metal fabrication industry. Proficiency with Structural Material Manager , Tekla PowerFab , and Microsoft Excel is required. Strong knowledge of steel shapes, connections, and fabrication practices. Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings. Strong attention to detail, time management, and analytical thinking. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AISC standards. Background in steel detailing or fabrication operations. Familiarity with project management workflows or construction scheduling software.
