beyond?Columbus Engine Center is seeking a qualified Senior Quality
Engineer. Candidates should possess experience in MRO Repair
Station/Engine Center, Quality Management Systems (QMS), RCCA, Data
Analysis, Technical Review, Inspection Methods, as well as Project
Management.Other focus areas is to develop relationships within
Columbus Engine Center operational functions. The goal is to create
a trusting relationship with an emphasis on rapid problem
resolution, removing waste and variability from processes and
improving quality and delivery. Candidates should also have the
knowledge in lean and lean techniques with an ability to work
toward operational and quality improvement initiatives.Pratt &
Whitney Columbus, GA is a FAA regulated facility and as such under
the U.S. Departments of Transportation's Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive
in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to
drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as
well as 49 CFR part 40.Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts activities to modify, apply, and maintain quality
evaluation, control systems and protocols.
- Evaluate technical data and work instructions in support of
Engineering and Operations.
- Identifies and manages risk utilizing and driving UPPAP core
elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to
identify risk in product development and propose risk management
solutions.
- Conducts investigations, provides analysis and develops
recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities.
- Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in
compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
- Analyzes quality activities to identify systemic issues and
enable development of specific quality initiative improvements and
strategies
- Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives
their implementation.
- Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and
recommends corrective action for internally produced products &
processes.
- Promote the Quality culture in the business, through compliance
to the QMS and adherence to Quality Cardinal RulesBasic
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline
(Engineering/Science/Business) with 8+ years of experience in an
aerospace aftermarket production environment in the disciplines of
quality engineering, quality systems management or supplier quality
experience ;OR
- Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5+ years of
relevant experience
- US Citizenship required due to government contractsPreferred
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidates should have experience in SAP, Continuous
Improvement, Data Analysis, and possess strong Excel skills
- Can lead efforts and development with minimal oversight, sets
objectives and guides others
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering
drawings
- ACE, Lean and Six-Sigma skill-set is a plus
- Ability to interpret Quality Management Systems (QMS) and MRO
requirements into simple terms and vice-versa; along with training
and development for subject matter experts and end-users
- Background in AS9100/AS9110 standards
- Experience leading product/process non-conformance
investigations (i.e., DIVEs)
- Flexibility for alternate shift coverage a must
- Self-starter who takes initiative, support strategic
priorities, take ownership of assigned projects/initiatives,
contribute to results and be committed to meeting tight
deadlines
- Work collaboratively on projects with other functional
departments and has exceptional organizational skills necessary to
manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must possess ability to make critical decisions and reach
important deadlines.
- Able to make quick and well-informed decisions, even under
high-pressured situations.
- Displays sensitivity and awareness of actions that affect
customer and coworkers.
- Deals professionally, collaboratively and firmly with conflict
resolution in any situation.
