Job Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking dedicated
individuals to join our team as Correctional Officers. This role is
integral to the upkeep of law and order within federal penal
institutions, ensuring the safe and secure containment of inmates.
By maintaining a humane environment, Correctional Officers
facilitate the rehabilitation process and uphold the standards set
by the BOP. This position demands a high level of vigilance,
integrity, and professionalism. Supervise and monitor inmate
behavior within the institution ensuring security and safety.
Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to prevent escape attempts.
Inspect cells and other areas for contraband, tampering, and any
security breaches. Enforce regulations and manage inmate movements
during work, meal times, and recreation. Respond to emergencies and
disturbances, applying conflict resolution skills to deescalate
situations. Document daily activities, incidents, and any notable
interactions between inmates. Participate in the ongoing
professional training to stay updated on the latest in corrections
tactics and policies. Strong interpersonal communication skills to
manage both team and inmate interactions effectively. Ability to
react calmly and decisively in high-stress situations. Physical
fitness to respond to emergencies and conduct routine patrols.
Understanding of correctional facility operations and safety
protocols. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life

Training Academy. First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
