Description Posting Expires: 4/3/26 Salary Range: $40,945.05-
$51,181.31 General Description and Classification Standards: With
the daily level of activities including construction projects,
infrastructure demands, and micro mobility and sustainability
projects that support the City of Atlanta through the Atlanta
Department of Transportation there is a crucial need to capture
visual assets that inform and advise internal and external
stakeholders. Visual collateral is needed to apprise the public of
the department’s projects and deliverables and to augment various
reports to leadership, City of Atlanta Administration, and the
Atlanta City Council. Engaging a full-time proficient videographer
/ photographer is the most cost-effective way to meet key
communications needs for the department. Supervision Received:
Position operates under close supervision and may be under direct
supervision as they are developing skills on or being certified to
operate new equipment. Decision Making: Generally, follows work or
project direction from a supervisor; may make decisions as to work
methods or sequences within skill level. Leadership Provided:
Typically, none but may oversee temporary or contract workers, as
needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These are typical
responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as
exclusive or all inclusive. Operates dump truck daily, traveling to
and from job sites in a safe and effective manner to minimize the
risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Operates
construction or maintenance equipment which may include bobcats,
front-end loaders, forklifts, pothole trucks, tandem dump trucks,
5-yard dump trucks, and skid-steer in a safe and effective manner
to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
Maintains and secures all departmental vehicles and equipment which
may include cleaning, performing minor repairs and/or reporting
damages to supervision, locking vehicles, etc. May haul various
materials, such as: pipes, rocks, sand, gravel, stone, trash, etc.
Prepares daily records equipment mileage, hours of operation,
maintenance issues; performs vehicle check list which include
duties such as checking oil, tires, and fluid levels of vehicle.
Reviews and signs documents such as, work orders, service request
forms, attendance records, daily or weekly work reports, and
preventive maintenance records. Effectively communicates and
interacts with management, employees, and members of the public.
Participates in occurrences designated as “Emergency Events” by
department Commissioner or Mayor in direct or expanded role. May
perform other duties as assigned. The above statements reflect the

of the organization. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: This is a

equipment assigned. Skill in operating vehicles and heavy
equipment. Required to make independent judgments in absence of
supervision. Must be physically able to operate a variety of
related machines at level requirements for active work. Minimum
Qualifications: Education and Experience – High School Diploma or
General Equivalency Degree (GED) required. At least 1 years’
experience in the operation of light to medium-sized commercial
vehicles or construction/maintenance equipment. Preferred
Requirements – 2 years’ experience in the operation of light to
medium-sized commercial vehicles or construction/maintenance
equipment. Licensures and Certifications Valid CDL License Class B
required. Tanker Endorsement (N) desirable. Work Environment: Tasks
may require exposure to such environmental conditions as dirt,
dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature
and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents,
traffic hazards, toxic agents, violence, disease, or pathogens.
Lifting Requirements: Tasks involve the regular and sustained
performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically
involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping,
kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the
lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy
objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve
heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds). Sensory
Requirements: Physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are
required to perform the job successfully. Typical environmental
conditions associated with job. Some tasks require the ability to
perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor,
depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the
ability to communicate orally.
