Job Description:
Duties
- Provide instructions for various Security Division services
such as in/out-processing, fingerprinting, and destruction of
classified information.
- Assist the Supervisor and/or Division Chief by scheduling
conference rooms for security information meetings and develops
handouts/briefing aids.
- Assist with or conduct surveys, inspections, reviews, and risk
assessment in accordance with regulations and program security
guidance.
- Review program products to ensure proper application of
appropriate security classification markings, caveats and
downgrading instructions.
- Ensure information in security data bases is accurate and
current.
- Review the Defense Information Security System (DISS) to
determine the status of security clearances. Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness
determination, as determined by a completed background
investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug
Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully
pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to
appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security
clearance based on a single-scope background investigation (SSBI)
with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information
(SCI).
- May require overtime work, shift work and/or work on rotating
shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in
other situations.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required 25% or less of the time.

as: 1. Experience performing security assistant duties for a
multi-discipline security program. AND 2. Assisting with

Experience utilizing automated systems and/or applications such as
databases, word processing, and spreadsheets to perform a variety
of typing and data entry duties. This definition of specialized
experience is typical of work performed at the next lower
grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-07) or the next
lower grade/level outside the federal service (GG/GS-08). In
addition to meeting the experience requirement above your resume
must clearly show possession of the following skill. Office
Automation Proficiency: Typing speed of 40 words per minute based
on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be
evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following
areas:

- Personnel Security
- Technical Competence Creditable experience may include previous
military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in
another government agency as long as it was at a level at least
equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Education Some
