Job Description Job Description We are looking for a
detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Streetsboro,
Ohio. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial
records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards,
particularly in a non-profit setting. The ideal candidate will have
experience in journal entries, general ledger management, and
non-profit accounting practices. Responsibilities: • Perform
reconciliation of balance sheets and bank accounts to ensure
accuracy in financial reporting. • Prepare and post general ledger
journal entries in compliance with accounting standards. • Record
fixed assets and calculate depreciation to maintain accurate asset
tracking. • Manage bookkeeping tasks, including processing payables
and receivables, generating aging reports, and reviewing revenues
and expenses. • Create and distribute financial statements for
various entities to relevant stakeholders. • Support annual
financial audits, including tasks related to Section 8 housing
compliance. • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and
accurate financial reporting. • Analyze financial data to identify
discrepancies and propose corrective measures. • Maintain adherence
to non-profit accounting regulations and HUD requirements. •
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a
non-profit setting. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and
maintaining general ledger accounts. • Knowledge of fixed asset
accounting and depreciation methods. • Familiarity with non-profit
accounting principles and HUD regulations. • Strong analytical
skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies. • Excellent
organizational abilities to handle multiple financial tasks
efficiently. • Effective communication skills for presenting
financial data to stakeholders. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,
Finance, or a related field is preferred.
